CHATEAU PICHON LONGUEVILLE COMTESSE DE LALANDE, A PASSION FOR WINE
After a long study of the archives David Haziot, a writer who has also published a novel based on the life of the founder of Chateau Cos d’Estournel, has just finished writing the history of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. The book was published on October 25th.
From its beginning in the 17th century, the story of the vineyard is told through the lives of the men and women who created Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, all of whom shared a passion for this wine. Through each chapter, which tells of their triumphs and losses in life we experience the cru’s deeply human dimension. From the Grand Siècle to the Revolution, from prosperity to terrible crisis, from the great war to the occupation and on to the global era, we see each period’s colours, styles, ambitions and also illusions and - of course their protagonists, from Pierre de Rauzan to May-Eliane de Lencquesaing who recounts her memories here for the first time .
