  The baptism of Bernadotte

the guests were divided into small groups and taken round the new installations, before being ushered into the salons of the Château where May-Eliane de Lencquesaing paid a glowing tribute not only to the profession but also to the members of her team at both Pichon and Bernadotte who had made a valuable contribution to the rebirth of the domain.

Gildas d’Ollone then gave a short exposé on the commercial strategy of the domain, after which the guests were invited to a buffet lunch held in tents in the garden. At this luncheon the 89 and 82 vintages were served. The structure and youth of these wines reminded everyone that the great Pauillacs were very close by.

• Annual production : 16000 cases
• Sales : 60% export
• Grape Varieties : Cabernet Sauvignon 62%, Merlot 36%, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot 2%, 1/3 new barrels ,
• 1/3 barrels used for one vintage, 1/3 barrels used for two vintages.
• Time spent in barrel : between 12 and 18 months.
